Interview with Tim Seaman and Jeff Salvage
Olympic race walker Tim Seaman and Jeff Salvage (author, walker, photographer) were in Columbus, OH this past summer to present their Race Walking Clinic of Excellence. While here, I was able to interview them for this podcast.
In this episode, they talk about their walking backgrounds, their coaching philosophies, and why they decided to join forces. They also provide great training advice including setting fitness goals, fitting walking in, stretching and keeping accountable to yourself. They have great advice for growing the sport of race walking. And of course we end up talking about shoes. Finally, they describe the four books they have written together and how to use them.
New to this podcast is a shoe review section. In it I talk about the shoes I’ve been wearing — Altras and Brooks Pure Flow — and how they work for long-distance race walking.
